My Skin Care Journey
We all started with the very basic skin care routine; foam cleansers and moisturizers. In the past, it all seemed enough. Most of us took skin care for granted to the point that some even see it as an inconvenience and just went to bed right away. I am guilty of that.
For as long as I could remember, I used Pond's facial wash and moisturizer. I shifted to Garnier in 2012 but still, my skin care routine was basic. I used to have very dry skin with some flaky areas. I also had a very dull skin tone. I didn't mind it at all but when I started taking an interest in make up, I learned that putting make up is not enough. We have to start with a good base which is our skin.
Me in 2015. Very dry and dull skin. |
Me in 2016. Still the same skin issues, adding dry undereye area. |
It's kind of embarrassing to post these old photos of me but it's a good reminder of how much my skin condition has improved.
With all the hype with Korean skin care routine and products, one cannot help but be curious. It's quite overwhelming seeing all those products offering promises and miracles to achieve the Korean-like porcelain skin. Since I had very limited knowledge about what's good and what's not for my skin type, it was like a trial and error for me. I knew I have to check some reviews first but I neglected doing so for the most part. I learned my lesson now and I always make sure to check reviews first before purchasing. I will be sharing those stories as well in another post.
Me in 2017. Now with combination skin. Still dry undereye area. |
I am no expert in skin care but I would like to share my journey as I expand my knowledge in this area. I started posting reviews about the products I used in August 2016 on my Instagram account but I would be re-posting them here and I would be updating them as well.
There are a lot of products which are hyped but I tend to go for the ones which are hardly noticed by many. There is a lot of options out there but moms like me also consider the price. I will be posting mostly cheap and affordable ones so my future readers can have options. Additionally, I will be covering skin care, lip care, hair care, bath soaps and other bath essentials.
I hope that you would join me in my journey. I welcome comments and suggestions. I would also love to know how your skin care journey started. See you on my next post!
Love lots and go feed your skin,
Lovely
